    24kg adjustable dumbbells.

After trying my neighbors dumbbells to get an idea of the ideal weight, I settled on 24kg. Looking around, BrainGain offered the best combination of adjustment(15 different weight combinations) and price. Delivery was swift.I also like that the lower weight increased gradually, meaning they would be suitable for my wife also. Like all adjustable dumbbells they are quite large, but you easily adapt. The adjustment gives a nice solid click and the construction seems pretty sturdy. Having used them now for a few sessions I'm really pleased with the purchase.

    Game changer for home gyms.

These fantastic adjustable dumbbells are a great addition to any gym. They provide an excellent solution for home gyms that are limited on space, thanks to their innovative design. With these dumbbells, you no longer need to swap out individual weights; you simply twist the dial to your desired weight and lift from the base. The 24 kg weight is perfect for about 80% of people. I'm currently using it with weights up to 10 kg, and it is a very convenient way to work out. The dumbbells have a fantastic grip, which makes me feel secure while holding them. They lock into the base very well, feel very sturdy, and I believe they will last a long time.

    Excellent high quality equipment

Brilliant Dumbbells! I was looking for a new addition to the home gym equipment that can also be used on the go & can be taken with me when travelling and these are perfect! They are space saving too providing multiple weights in one whilst only taking up the same amount of space as single pair of dumbbells. Great quality, feel very secure, also very easy to use and adjust the weights. Highly recommend this top quality product.

Here we have a curiously branded set of weights, Braingain!?It's an ingenious adjustable set, starting at 2.5kg, you can set the dumbbell to any of fifteen weights, all the way up to 24kg.The adjustment mechanism is SOLID, really very impressive. You turn the handle, and it makes a particularly satisfying "thunk" as it cycles through the different weights. When you lift it up, it simply leaves the unneeded weight behind on the stand. It's really clever, it works superbly, it feels very durable, but time will tell.I think it's an excellent "set", you're getting fifteen separate weights all in the same footprint of one dumbbell, but there are obvious improvements that could/should be made.First, the grip is rubberised and comfortable enough when you're lifting the lower weights, but when you crank things up it becomes very noticeable how thin this rubber is, they're hard and uncomfortable on my little handies!Second issue and a really obvious omission, there are no rubber feet on the plastic frame so it just skids about on hard floors, this is something I am going to DIY as it's essential in my opinion.Third issue, it's quite apparent that this set is just an exercise in branding, this company has bought an ingenious but generic set from China, stuck their bizarre "Braingain" branding on it and is reselling in the UK. Looking at the competition on Amazon, I see a huge range of virtually identical items, starting from around £100 quid for one, or £150 for a pair. This is not a problem as such, but this isn't some exclusive and revolutionary item from Braingain, it's a rebranded generic you can get from a hundred different importers. The build quality is fine, but the tacky Braingain badges on the end of the dumbbell fell off as soon as I started using it!Ultimately, I think this is a GOOD item, and I am happily using it. If the price is competitive with the many other identical items being offered for sale on Amazon, then it is worth the money, but if it is undercut by just one of its competitors, then it is overpriced.

Fifteen weights in one bar, from 2.3kg to 23.8kg

This lifting weight kit consists of:-* 1 storage tray/cradle* 1 5lb (2.27kg) one-hand lifting bar* 2 1.25lb (0.56kg) discs, 1.13kg per pair* 2 2.5lb (1.13kg) discs, 2.27kg per pair* 2 5lb (2.27kg) discs, 4.54kg per pair* 4 7.5lb (3.4kg) discs, 6.8kg per pair (the innermost pair marked "B", the ones further out marked "A")The discs all have their weight - in pounds - lightly moulded into the front face.No instructions are supplied, only a sheet with a QR code to scan and access them, although the web address is also on the sheet so you don't need a smartphone. Also included is a 30 day free FiiT trial, again through a QR code. The kit features an ingenious "dial-a-weight" system. By simply rotating the handle you can select the weight you want the bar to be, from the following selections:-* 2.5kg (just the bar)* 3.5kg (bar plus 1.13kg)* 4.5kg (bar plus 2.27kg)* 5.5kg (bar plus 2.27kg and 1.13kg)* 6.5kg (bar plus 4.54kg)* 8kg (bar plus 4.54kg and 1.13kg)* 9kg (bar plus 4.54kg and 2.27kg)* 10kg (bar plus 6.8kg B and 1.13kg)* 11.5kg (bar plus 6.8kg B and 2.27kg)* 13.5kg (bar plus 6.8kg B and 4.54kg)* 16kg (bar plus 6.8kg B and 6.8kg A)* 18kg (bar plus 6.8kg B, 6.8kg A and 2.27kg)* 20.5kg (bar plus 6.8kg B, 6.8kg A and 4.54kg)* 22.5kg (bar plus 6.8kg B, 6.8kg A, 4.54kg and 2.27kg)* 24kg (bar plus 6.8kg B, 6.8kg A, 4.54kg, 2.27kg and 1.13kg)Lift the bar and you'll find your selected weights are locked in place, leaving the unused discs on the cradle.Note that the kilogram weight markings on the dial are approximate and presumably there's a version of this on sale with the scale in pounds. The pound scale (with the actual kilo weight in brackets, rather than what's on the kilo label fitted here) would be:-* 5lb (2.3kg) (just the 5lb bar)* 7.5lb (3.4kg) (bar plus 2 x 1.25lb)* 10lb (4.5kg) (bar plus 2 x 2.5lb)* 12.5lb (5.7kg) (bar plus 2 x 2.5lb and 2 x 1.25lb)* 15lb (6.8kg) (bar plus 2 x 5lb)* 17.5lb (7.9kg) (bar plus 2 x 5lb and 2 x 1.25lb)* 20lb (9.1kg) (bar plus 2 x 2.5lb and 2 x 2.5lb)* 22.5lb (10.2kg) (bar plus 2 x 7.5lb B and 2 x 1.25lb)* 25lb (11.3kg) (bar plus 2 x 7.5lb B and 2 x 2.5lb)* 30lb (13.6kg) (bar plus 2 x 7.5lb B and 2 x 5lb)* 35lb (15.9kg) (bar plus 2 x 7.5lb B and 2 x 7.5lb A)* 40lb (18.1kg) (bar plus 2 x 7.5lb B, 2 x 7.5lb A and 2 x 2.5lb)* 45lb (20.4kg) (bar plus 2 x 7.5lb B, 2 x 7.5lb A and 2 x 5lb)* 50lb (22.7kg) (bar plus 2 x 7.5lb B, 2 x 7.5lb A, 2 x 5lb and 2 x 2.5lb)* 52.5lb (23.8kg) (bar plus 2 x 7.5lb B, 2 x 7.5lb A, 2 x 5lb, 2 x 2.5lb and 2 x 1.25lb)The dial is locked while the handle is lifted out of the cradle, so you can't accidentally twist it to a new setting and drop the weights on your foot!Weights aren't locked to the base, so if you need to move the whole thing to a new location but aren't strong enough to carry it fully dialled-up, dial it down to something manageable, carry the bar with whatever you've selected then come back for the rest of the individual discs and the cradle. When reassembling ensure the discs are in the correct sequence: 1.25, 2.5, 5, 7.5 A, 7.5 B, then 7.5 B, 7.5 A, 5, 2.5, 1.25.It can be a little fiddly to slot back onto the cradle, as the lifted discs will need to slot down over those still docked, and if it goes in askew it can lock itself up and need a wriggle to get it seated properly and freed up. However this is only a minor niggle. If space is at a premium, this kit lets you fit the equivalent of fifteen dumbbells in a 44x22cm footprint. Ideal for those who want to to exercise but have limited room for the gear.

    Game changer for home gyms

A genuine game changer for home gyms.Although it's not essential, having a quick changing dumbbell makes it so much easier compared to sliding plates on and off a small dumbbell. And those two options are still better than a fixed dumbbell that you can't adjust at all. And you wouldn't be looking at this if you thought you can buy a full rack of dumbbells for your home gym, so you know that's not an option for youThis is a good start, and I say start because the price is entry level and it only goes up to 24 kg however this company does have some up to 40 kg, and I don't think I've seen any in a similar price bracket that go beyond 40 kg. Do note that this is a review for just a single dumbbell, not a pair. The build quality is fantastic, and the pin mechanism means that it's secure when it's out of the frame, but you can adjust the weights just by putting it back on. It comes packaged pre-assembled as it seems on the photo, with just a single strap around the middle. Lots of thick polystyrene to protect it.The weight increments are sensible, I don't think having anymore or any less would be particularly helpful. You can also just use the bar on its own, and it's weight is recorded. The end of caps kept falling off, so I put a little bit of glue to keep them in position. The grip is comfortable to hold, and doesn't feel like it's too narrow or too wide. Obviously it's not as compact as fixed dumbbells, so that takes some getting used to. However if you are doing your own plates, it probably won't make any difference to your experience, because this is more compact in that sense.I love it and I highly recommend it
